Studying in America is expensive, but there are many scholarships to help international students.


Almost all universities have scholarship programs, most of which are open to international students, although you may need to take the SAT or ACT. According to the Fulbright Commission, more than 600 American universities offer scholarships worth at least $20,000 to international students. They are usually assessed either on the basis of academic merit, financial need or extracurricular contribution.

 Association of University WomenOffers a scholarship to non-American women who wish to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in the United States. The association offers several scholarships from $18,000 to $30,000, depending on the degree, and once won, the money can be reapplied every year. Preference will be given to women who can demonstrate their commitment to the advancement of women and girls.

Next Generation
 ScholarshipProvides a scholarship of more than $1,000 to an individual who wants to study in Maryland, Washington, or Virginia.
 It is open to all international students, including current students, but applicants must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.

 International Peace Scholarship provides up to $12,500 to international students who wish to pursue graduate studies in America.

The Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Program offers a limited number of scholarships each year to outstanding students from selected developing countries to pursue graduate studies. 
Grants consist of a 50 percent grant and a 50 percent loan.

The American University in Washington offers one foreign student a four-year undergraduate tuition and fee-free program. Some partial scholarships are also available.

The University
 of Arkansas offers several financial options for international students.

Brandeis University pays its international scholarship "based on the full demonstrated financial need of each recipient," including one round-trip ticket. 


Berea College is the only school in the United States that offers 100% funding to 100% of enrolled international students in their first year of enrollment. After that, students must save $1,000 a year to finance their expenses. To achieve this goal, the university also offers summer jobs to international students.

Clark

The University of Minnesota offers $5,000 and $10,000 scholarships to international students each year. They also have several other scholarships that international students are welcome to apply for.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln offers scholarships to international students who demonstrate excellent academic performance and participation in extracurricular activities.

York University offers a limited number. of Wagner Scholarship students per year and international students can apply. Scholarships include partial or full tuition scholarships ranging from $25,000 to $47,000.

The University of Oregon awards 30-40 scholarships to international students each year. Scholarships cover tuition and can range from $7,500 to $30,000 per year. In return, recipients are expected to introduce their home country to children, community organizations and staff.

Wesleyan University's Freeman Asian Scholars Program offers four-year, full-semester scholarships to 11 exceptionally talented Asian students. In addition, the university also offers aid to approximately 30 international students.
